Lessons From A Toxic Mother

Sometimes the lessons we learn from our mothers are not kind sweet loving wise or nurturing. Sometimes the lessons we learn or the exact opposite. Sometimes we have to learn how not to be from our mothers for the sake of our children or future children. Sometimes we have to learn how not to love, how not to hate, and how not to act From our mothers. A toxic mother can be one of the most debilitating things for a child, however it can create a strong child that is determined to break a cycle of abuse and toxicity for the sake of the next generation. If you were one of these children, then please comment your story because it is real and it is needed to help others who may be going through the same thing. Comment your story below, you never know who it may help. Thank you 🙏

This are my lessons...

  1. No man is trustworthy, they all lie and cheat.

  2. It’s okay to leave your child and have them be raised by someone else so you can ”enjoy being young”.

  3. Love is conditional.

  4. Its okay if your husband hits or yells at you, marriage is worth it.

  5. Your marriage is worth more than your children.

These are just a few of the lessons that hurt the most and I still struggle to process and forgive.

Now that I am a mom, I understand that I my mother and I are definitely not on the same page as far as parenting, and that’s ok.

Parents are supposed to want their kids to turn out better than them...in every way possible. Of course I want my daughter to succeed and do things I never was capable of. Every parent should want that for their kids.

However if your parent made sure that you knew your place, put you down, and constantly taught you bad habits or destructive behaviors; you are not alone. Chances are, you’ve already came to these conclusions and are taking steps to distance yourself from that person and their habits....especially if you’re a parent yourself. And to that I say, keep going, you’re awesome, and I understand the struggle. And know that you are already nothing like them❤️
